Bryant’s or Gates: Which is Better?

It’s like asking, “What is the meaning of life?” The answers are many, varied and no soon spoken than obscured by new answers.

Two classic KC joint go head to head in this video. I’ve had ’em both and I’ll confess I am partial to Gate’s, I grew up eating’ ribs at the original Gates, alas, gone.

There is a special place in my memory of when the clarion call that went up from the waiter whenever I ordered a slab of those great ribs to go. “Gimme a side to ride!” Pure poetry!

The whole “who is best” thing is pretty much and “Any Given Sunday” thing as far as I’m concerned, particularly when there are  not only these two giants in KC, but a host of others, as well.

All the best, to all y’all.

A good day on the pit. Fired up the pit about 7 am with hickory, apple and a touch of mesquite, and enjoyed a relaxing rainy day.

Time for the payoff! Just off the smoke, the blade bone practically walked out of the meat. Consider it pulled and consumed!

All the best to all’ y’all.
